South Korean Education Communication Platform CLASSUM Teams up with Zoom
Education communication platform CLASSUM, based in South Korea, has become an official reseller of Zoom, a video communications platform. Zoom currently provides four types of partnerships: carriers, distributors & resellers, master agents, independent software vendors.
For reseller partners, Zoom selects companies among SaaS/cloud-based services and/or communication products on a set criteria. World class corporations like Softbank and America’s carrier AT&T are Zzoom reseller partners. CLASSUM’s proven experience in SaaS/cloud and integrated communication services helped set it apart to become a reseller of Zoom, making it eligible to sell Zoom to their customers. CLASSUM is the first South Korean startup company to be selected as a Zoom reseller.
CLASSUM offers an integrated solution for education that promotes active communication and participation both in and out of the classroom, and is equipped with tools to facilitate a variety of instructional formats including online, in-person, hybrid, and flipped courses. The solution’s recently released Live Sessions feature combines Zoom’s existing tools with CLASSUM’s chat functions to enhance student engagement during courses conducted on Zoom.
“”South Korea is an important market for us as we continue to develop our business in the regionKorea is a growth keygreat market for Zoom,” said Ricky Kapur, Head of APAC, Don Kerr, Channel Sales Manager, APAC at Zoom. “We are excited to work with CLASSUM to expand our presence in Korea and looking forward to delivering enhanced online and hybrid learning experiences to users. building synergy with a startup with so much potential.”
“We are extremely keen to work with Zoom, the leader in modern enterprise video communications,” said Youjin Choi, COO of CLASSUM, who initiated the partnership. “We look forward to growing together with Zoom to support our users in their online education initiatives.”
By purchasing Zoom through CLASSUM, Korean institutions and corporate buyers, who had difficulty paying via overseas payment methods, can now purchase via direct transfers (common payment method in Korea) with the appropriate invoicing. Others who had difficulty purchasing a plan in English can now easily purchase Zoom paid accounts (in Korean).
One thing to note is that the Zoom discount pricing only applies to those who plan to purchase a plan that is one year or more with more than 5 licenses. It is expected that larger institutions that run big educational programs will be drawn to purchasing through this reseller partnership. Discount also differs by the size and scope of the institution/user group.
