CLASSUM’s 4.0 Update
Communication-centered growth platform, CLASSUM (CEOs Chaerin Lee and Youjin Choi), completed its 4.0 update today (25th August). The new version is available for viewing directly on the www.classum.com website or in the updated app.
While traditional methods of teaching simply involved the transfer of knowledge from educator to learner, the notion of “learning” is now undergoing significant change. Learning has started to become more of a collective process in which individuals grow at their own pace while sharing the unique knowledge and know-how they acquire with others. This transformation was caused largely by the need for quicker, continuous reskilling and upskilling as knowledge gets outdated at a faster pace than ever before, making efficient problem solving and decision making all the more important.
To help combat these challenges, CLASSUM conducted its newest sitewide update, with which it hopes to lead the new trend of blurring the lines between learner and educator.
CLASSUM is introducing 7 main features with its 4.0 update:
A system that can both design and manage curriculum
Making participants equal contributors to learning
Overall design and service improvement
Merged post types
Post tags
Responsive design optimization
Universal design across devices
With these updates, CLASSUM seeks to foster long-term learning communities that thrive with active communication.
Introducing CLASSUM’s 4.0 Update
CLASSUM’s 4.0 update focuses on cultivating an educational environment in which not only instructors but also participants contribute to collective learning. By connecting educators to various educational tools such as Zoom lectures, recorded VOD lectures, links, notes, and quizzes, CLASSUM enables educators to not only operate and manage but also design a personalized curriculum for every learner. Moreover, the platform provides a dashboard that shows the progress of each learner so that instructors can send notifications to learners who are falling behind.
CLASSUM updated all of its features to enable not only space administrators but also participants to upload content and shape the curriculum. Contributing participants can now directly produce and post educational content, share questions and answers, and run studies on their own. With these changes, CLASSUM aims to make learning and teaching at any time a feasible possibility.
In CLASSUM, posts were previously separated by notices, questions, and notes. Now, the divisions have been eliminated in the hopes that merging types will simplify posting and increase the spread of ideas.
The 4.0 update also introduces a new tag list that allows users to categorize posts using multiple tags, so that finding specific information or content that aligns with one’s interests is easier. In addition, users can now pin certain posts or view only posts they have already interacted with. Additionally, to improve the readability of posts, CLASSUM has also improved its UI.
CLASSUM has also implemented a responsive design that makes the user experience more convenient by seamlessly adapting to user behavior. Users can now more easily view multiple windows on a single screen and adjust the size of windows, posts, and comments according to their needs.
With its 4.0 update, CLASSUM has implemented a uniform design across all devices, making the transition between different devices smoother for users.
CLASSUM CEO, Youjin Choi, says, “With the advent of YouTube and blogs in the early 2000s, the boundary between content producers and consumers began to blur. Twenty years have passed since then, and there is a new culture in which anyone can become a content creator. We are living in an era in education where learning occurs not unilaterally, from a single educator, but rather collectively, from learners themselves. Now that these lines separating the educator and learner are breaking down, CLASSUM hopes to lay the foundation for a learning environment that promotes true and constant growth.”
