With COVID-19, millions of people were forced to go remote to stop the spread of the virus. And in order to quickly adapt to a fully online environment, we had to choose among hundreds of online tools we haven’t even heard before. Communication, collaboration, presentation, note taking, video recording… the list goes on.
But even with all these different solutions, there is one in particular that has been in the spotlight for a while: Zoom. Being it for lectures, meetings, conferences, or calling friends, Zoom rose as one of the favorite video conferencing tool and is present in almost every computer.
But although we all know what Zoom is, only a few are aware of the different solutions they provide. Today we will briefly cover Zoom Webinar.
Zoom Webinar vs Zoom Meetings comparison
On the outside, Zoom Webinar and Meetings are pretty much the same — in essence, both are used for video conferencing. The main differences, however, are the maximum number of participants, roles, and price. While Zoom Meetings is suitable for small groups (up to 100 participants for the free version), Zoom Webinar is best for sessions with 50+ attendees, able to accommodate up 50,000 participants.
Another important difference is the fact that Zoom Webinar has a “panelist” role besides hosts and participants.
“Panelists are full participants in a webinar. They can view and send video, screen share, annotate, etc. Panelists must be assigned by a webinar host.”
